Quality

Statera means balance. At our winery, the word Statera represents a guide and concurrently, a challenge. We strive to find balance not only in all aspects of winemaking but also in life in general. In the vineyard, we are looking for a balance between traditional grape production and new technologies that enable minimal use of protective agents, contributing to the final quality of the grapes and the preservation of natural diversity.

TRADITION

Statera family wine estate dates back to the second half of the 20th century, when the solid foundations of our viticulture and winemaking were built. With love and effort, Viktor Kotolenko, the originator of our viticulture story, and his wife Terezija began to grow the first vines of various varieties, including Welsh Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Furmint, Chardonnay and Yellow Muscat.

STATERA

FRUITINESS AND FRESHNESS

The entry-level range, focused on fruitiness and freshness. Wines are lighter, expressive of primary aromas, harmonious, and highly drinkable, intended for early consumption.

Mejaš

Mejaš

Mejaš is a white field blend of varieties such as Welschriesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, and Yellow Muscat, which express their full potential in our vineyards. It is a youthful, fresh, and easy-drinking wine suitable for any occasion. Its best expression is when consumed young and well-chilled at 6–8 °C.

Rosé

Rosé

Rosé, produced from Pinot Noir, is a fresh and easy-drinking wine. Grapes are harvested from lower vineyard sites to achieve optimal sugar ripeness while preserving sufficient acidity, ensuring freshness and delicacy. Residual sugar and vibrant acidity are in excellent balance, making this wine especially refreshing on warm summer days. Aromas recall strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries, with subtle spicy notes. Best served chilled at 6–8 °C. It pairs excellently with salmon, lobster, and a variety of cheeses.

Muscat

Muscat

Semi-sweet Yellow Muscat is a frequent choice among lovers of aromatic wines with a sweeter profile. It requires elevated, south-facing sites and light soils. Similar to Šipon, particular attention is given to yield control, mainly due to the large cluster size. It is a fresh wine with lively acidity, enriched by delicate floral and citrus notes, along with aromas of Muscat grape and hints of lemongrass and peach. It is best served chilled at 6–8 °C, preferably on its own as an aperitif or paired with Asian cuisine.

VARIETAL EXPRESSION AND MINERALITY

Wines from selected vineyards expressing clear varietal character and site identity. Emphasis is placed on varietal precision and pronounced minerality, creating elegant, more complex wines with a strong sense of origin.

Riesling

Riesling

Riesling – the king of white wines, as described in Central and Eastern Europe. It requires marl-rich soils and favourable ripening conditions. Extended maturation in the cellar and bottle reveals its full potential. Even slightly overripe or botrytised (noble rot) grapes contribute significantly to quality. The wine develops complex aromas of honey, dried fruit, and figs.

Traminer

Traminer

Gewürztraminer is an aromatic wine with distinctive notes of lychee and dried rose petals. Vineyard work is demanding due to short internodes, resulting in dense canopy growth. Without careful shoot and leaf thinning, bunches may lack sufficient aeration and sunlight exposure. With proper management, very high-quality grapes can be produced, although yields are naturally low (around 1 kg per vine). Aromas include tropical fruit and spice notes. It pairs beautifully with foie gras, desserts, or can be enjoyed on its own.

Pinot Gris

Pinot Gris

Pinot Gris shows a light copper hue due to its greyish-pink skins. It is a medium-bodied wine with expressive varietal aromas of ripe lemon, pear, tropical fruit, and dried fruit. A slightly higher alcohol level gives it additional richness and structure, making it suitable for more aromatic and spicy dishes. It pairs well with pasta, shellfish, soft cheeses, and pork. Served at 8–10 °C.

Sauvignon Blanc

Sauvignon Blanc

Sauvignon Blanc is a favourite among lovers of fresh, youthful wines. Special attention is given to canopy management and optimal leaf wall aeration. The timing of harvest is crucial. It is a medium-bodied wine with vibrant acidity and a refreshing, mineral-driven palate. It is defined by an expressive varietal aroma combining green and tropical notes, with hints of passion fruit and gooseberry. It pairs excellently with fish, seafood, and asparagus. Served at 8–10 °C.

Šipon (Furmint)

Šipon (Furmint)

Šipon is a variety of which we are particularly proud in the Haloze wine-growing district. Early budbreak and late ripening are its key characteristics. Due to its large clusters, yield thinning is essential for quality production. It is a medium-bodied wine with pleasant freshness and a mineral, juicy character. Aromas recall citrus fruits, pineapple, white flowers, and subtle herbal notes. Served chilled at 8–10 °C. It pairs well with seafood, salads, and poultry.

STRUCTURE AND COMPLEXITY

Premium range of aged wines where structure, depth, and complexity come to the forefront. Extended ageing provides layers, fullness, and a long finish, while maintaining balance and refinement.

Pinot Noir

Pinot Noir

Deep ruby colour with a subtle brick hue. The nose is rich and expressive, with ripe forest berries, cherry, and plum, complemented by forest floor and spice notes. On the palate, it is full-bodied, elegant, and structured, with silky tannins. The finish is long, layered, and harmonious, clearly reflecting the micro-terroir. A refined, serious, and highly expressive Pinot Noir.

Furmint

Furmint

A pale golden wine with brilliant clarity. The nose is refined and complex, showing ripe apple, pear, pineapple, and subtle smoky tones. Oak aging adds gentle vanilla and spice nuances. On the palate, it is full-bodied, structured, and tense, with balanced freshness and a long finish. The combination of stainless steel and oak maturation creates depth and elegance. A characterful Furmint with strong ageing potential.

Blanc

Blanc

A straw-golden wine with a delicate golden hue. The nose is complex and layered, revealing ripe yellow fruit, white peach, and citrus, supported by subtle creamy and spicy oak notes. On the palate, it is harmonious and structured, with well-integrated layers of four varieties creating a rich yet elegant profile. Despite partial oak aging, it retains vibrant freshness, pronounced minerality, and youthful energy. A traditional blend with a strong micro-terroir signature.

The wine is named after Viktor, the pioneer of the estate's winemaking story. It comes from the very vineyard site where he first experimented with different viticultural approaches. More than just a wine, Viktor is a tribute to tradition, curiosity, and the distinctive character of its terroir.

Deep golden wine with a rich, brilliant appearance. The nose is highly intense and complex, featuring ripe figs, honey, and dried fruit, complemented by subtle oak and caramel notes. On the palate, it is full-bodied, concentrated, and powerful, with high alcohol, residual sugar, and vibrant acidity creating a precise balance between sweetness and freshness. The texture is rich, almost oily, with a long, warm, and highly complex finish. The wine is named after Viktor, the founder of the estate’s winemaking story, and originates from a selected vineyard site where his first experimental vineyard practices took place. Viktor is therefore not only a wine, but a tribute to tradition, exploration, and the character of the terroir.
